Zaric
Zaric was born in 1961 in Switzerland. In 1993 he graduated from the Geneva art school. (Ecole Supérieure des Beaux – Arts).
Before achieving his degree in Art, he was an environmental scientist in forestry.
Zaric’s sculptures appear as ancestral hieratic characters, yet with an intriguing both classical and contemporary spirit. The expression of humans and animals fuse into each other diminishing the boundaries that lie between the two.
The sculptor artist first forms a model out of clay, then he takes a print from it and eventually forms the sculpture out of a mould and casts it in polychrome cement.
The roughly structured surfaces of his work along with the traces of the mould allows the observer to experience the “work in progress” that was needed for the sculpture and the polychrome patinas give his work a sense of eternity.
Zaric lives and works in Lausanne.
